1.. United Future Organization =93Everyday Routine=94 (Cuttin=92 Edge)

The long awaited =93V=94 album has finally arrived. Better late then =
never. Probably the best U.F.O. work so far. The album has arrived =
together with a surprising piece of news: one of the three amigos, =
Toshio Matsuura, has left the band to start his own production. So, now =
U.F.O. is the duet of Raphael and Yabe. However, the sleeve-notes for =
the album are written by Toshio and here is what he says about the =
=93Everyday Routine=94 track: =93Every first Saturday of every month we =
are doing our =93Free Form=94 show on the J-Wave radio station. Once =
during the show Raphael has played a track that had that sample - =
=93tired everyday routine=94. These words have fixed in our minds=85 and =
we decided to use them in one of the tracks. As a matter of fact, =
we=92ve finished the production work for this one during 3 days. I think =
one can feel that the main thing here is the distinctive idea and the =
power of concentration=94.=20

b.. Cinematic Orchestra =93Everyday=94 (Ninja Tune)

Even before =93Every Day=94 album has arrived to Moscow, we already =
knew =96 this is going to be a classic. If Gilles Peterson uses one =
track from an album for his compilation =96 you must go and buy the =
whole album. Well, you all have it already, don=92t you?=20

c.. Stereotyp feat. Tikiman =93Fling Style=94 (G-Stone)

=93Fling Style=94 was the anthem of this summer for me. Once again =
much respect to our dearest Alan =93Cukipapa=94 Brown for giving me =
this. Really, this is ragga-step! Tikiman on vocals. Check him out here =

d.. United Future Organization =93Esperanza=94 (Cuttin=92 Edge)

Ambient sounds mixed with Spanish guitar =96 another astonishing track =
from the new U.F.O. album. A two minute acoustic-guitar solo played by =
Naohiko Higuchi.=20

e.. Megablast =93Tribute EP=94 (Into This)

Another beautiful record from Vienna. Megablast is a Viennese musician =
Sascha Weisz. Four tracks =96 four downtempo acid-jazz masterpieces. =
Very deep, very sunny and very =85=93african=94 sound, i should say.

f.. Shanti Roots feat. Sheibosan =93Afrique=94 (Vienna Scientists)

Another =93african=94 record. And again from Vienna. Shanti Roots =
bring us an electro-funk dancefloor killer. Tribal!=20

g.. Earth Leakage Trip =93String Thief=94 (Cookin=92)

This track comes from the 3rd =93Ingridients=94 compilation on =
Cookin=92 records. Compiled by maestro LTG Bukem who shows his splendid =
taste in downtempo music. This tune made me think of =93Riders on The =
Storm=94.

h.. Koop =93Bright Nights=94 (Rima Techno chimp dub mix) (JCR)

The second single from the already-a-classic =93Waltz for Koop=94 =
album. Yukimi Nagano on the vocals again. Rima aka Domu aka Volcov from =
Archive records does two wonderful remixes. Techno chimp dub mix is a =
wonderful example of how one should make a dance-tune out of a non-dance =
tune, keeping the aesthetics of the original untouched. Bravo Rima, =
bravo Koop!

i.. Art Konik =93Ming Park=94 (Comet)

My favourite tune from the =93Vendetta Society=94 album. Dark jazz =
broken beats, saxophones and voices calling for Charles Parker create an =
inimitable mood.

j.. Deejedies =93Cosmo Picnic=94 (?)

=93Deejedies=94 is the export-name for the band called Nuclear Los=FC. =
Three guys from the Siberean city of Novosibirsk made the best Russian =
acid-jazz album so far. Actually they call their music not =
=93acid-jazz=94 or =93nu jazz=94, but =93porno jazz=94! Watch out for =
them.

k.. Jazzanova =93That Night remixes=94 (JCR)

Two wonderful remixes made by Attica Blues=92 Tony Wachchuku and =
Vikter Duplaix himself. But i still like the original better.

l.. Jazzanova =93Days To Come remixes=94 (JCR)

Now finally i dig this tune! Two great remixes from Ayro and Ian =
O=92Brien explained everything. Ayro has even added his own vocals to =
=93Days To Come=94, besides that he gave JCR people 8 mixes and they say =
they had big problems to figure out which one was the best. =
O=92Brien=92s remix is also a great example of how a remix work should =
be done.

m.. Waldeck =93This Isn=92t Maybe=94 (Mushroom Dive=92s Lo Fly Push Up =
2002) (Dope Noir)

The remix album for Waldeck=92s =93Night Garden=94 is out on Dope =
Noir. This cd has two versions of =93This Isn=92t Maybe=94. Mushroom =
Dive do the deep-house remix, which opens the album and takes you =
somewhere far far away.=20

n.. Moonstarr =93Dupont remixes=94 (Compost)

Kevin Moon, aka Moonstarr has released his Dupont EP on Public Transit =
Records in 2001. The record was charted by Rainer Truby and GP, and =
Moonstarr=92s track =93Dust=94 was included into =93Future Sound Of =
Jazz=94 compilation. Now Compost records release new remixes of the =
killer-track =93Greed=94. One comes from Nu Era (which is Marc from =
4Hero) and one from Moonstarr himself. Superb dancefloor stuff!

o.. Dinah Washington =93Is You Or Is You Ain=92t My Baby=94 (Rae & =
Christian Remix) (Verve)

My personal favourite track from the beautiful =93Verve Remixed=94 =
project. =93Is you or is you ain=92t my baby?=94 =96 even William =
Shakespeare couldn=92t say better.

p.. Alexandroid =93Ksanty Note=94 (Fono)

Alexandroid =96 are Alex & Android, two guys from Riga, now living in =
Moscow. Alexandroid are making all kinds of intelligent electronica, =
from ambient and noise to techno and industrial. But =93Ksanty Note=94, =
which comes from their album =93God Delusion=94, is a piece of beautiful =
and very lyrical d=92n=92b. Bukem should have this one!

q.. Les Gammas =93Outra Vida=94 (Eddy & Dus remix) (Compost)

We=92re keeping on listening to the =93Outra Vida=94 remixes. Eddy & =
Dus come with a version which is even more interesting then Patife=92s. =
Starts as sweet downtempo and then evolves into cool d=92n=92b. =
Well-attuned and interesting.

r.. Erik Sumo =93Just A Woman=94 (Inverse Cinematics fucking remix) =
(Pulver)

Stuttgart-based Pulver records release Erik Sumo=92s =93Just a Woman/ =
Pretty Nu=94 EP. Erik is from Budapest where he is doing a radio show =
together with Keyser & Shuriken also known as The Crate Soul Brothers. =
All four tracks of this EP sound fresh and bizarre in a good way. But i =
like the Inverse Cinematics=92s =93fucking=94 remix best of all. This is =
porno jazz, indeed. Tasty stuff!

s.. Dj Matt =93The Way I Swing=94 (original mix) (InfraCom!)

Dj Matt who is a trained jazz musician shows how the contemporary club =
music should sound today. =93The Way I Swing=94 tune is really a =
nightmare for a musical critic: try to imagine Detroit techno with =
broken beats and a jazz-piano break in the middle. It sounds like=85 =
well, it sounds!

t.. Binder & Krieglstein =93Midnight Journey=94 (Zeiger)

Austrian duet Binder & Krieglstein comes with a very interesting album =
=93International=94. =93Midnight Journey=94 reminds Cinematic Orchestra, =
but sounds much more darker and aggressive.=20

u.. Minus 8 =93A Concha Cor De Rosa=94 (Compost)

From the new Minus 8 album =93Minuit=94. Heavily influenced by Patife =
& Marky.=20

v.. Dzuma =93Cafe Torino=94 (Snegiri)

Dzuma is Vladimir Dzumkov=92s band based in Tallinn, Estonia. Their =
=93Dreambox=94 album is out on Russia=92s biggest easy listening/ lounge =
label Snegiri. Very fresh and nice muzak which gives you a warm feeling. =

w.. Herbaliser =93Good Girl Gone Bad=94 (feat. Wildflower) (Ninja =
Tune)

=93She is beautiful, she is smart, she is a fighting hellcat, she is =
dynamite!!!=94 Man, i love female rap. And Herbaliser knows how to do =
it.=20
