Must see CLUBS in Tokyo are:
The Room, near JR Shibuya Station
(KJM play there along with
a pile of other nujazz merchants)
BLUE
in Aoyama, back of/under the Avance Rolex watch shop near
Blue Note Tokyo
(ex-UFO run regular nights there)
Yellow (Friday night usually has
KJM or ex-UFO members spinning. A
few weeks ago Mondo Grosso did a
show)
There is an English language guide book called "Nightlife in
Tokyo"
or some such thing that will give you detailed maps, cost, etc.
Also, pick up a copy of Metropolis while you are here to scope the
latest concert/international act info. See
http://www.metropolis.co.jp/This
mag is free in HMV/TOWER/Virgin every
Friday.

Must
visit RECORD shops in Shibuya, Tokyo are:
DMR (Dance Music Record) in
Shibuya - opposite Tokyu Hands Dept. store.
They are THE king groove
selectors in Shibuya.
CISCO - has stores for different
genres.
DISK UNION - behind the "koban" police box that runs off
Center-gai in Shibuya. Can't miss it, it has different floors for Jazz,
House, Hip-Hop etc.
IF you can find it, GUINNESS RECORDS which is
situated on the 4th or 5th floor up some stairs in the building next to
Manhattan Records, which is just up from DMR. This store has most mainstream
nujazz releases 100-200yen cheaper that most.
RECO FAN - Cheap!,
especially during one of their sales on loads of second-hand CDs, 12"s and
LPs.
Have fun, I know you will.

Can anyone out there suggest places to drink, dance and shop for records
in the aforementioned three cities? I will be taking a 3 week trip in
October: 10/12-10/23 in Shanghai---10/23-10/31 in Taipei---10/31-11/3 in
Tokyo. In Tokyo, will be staying at the Shinjuku District.
I heard that U.F.O. broke up but I think they still have residences
in Tokyo. Does anyone know where?
Any help would be much appreciated. This also extends to good
restaurants, places to buy clothes and sneakers and even cultural things
like galleries and museums.
peace,
ad ease
