    man, that's ill!

    the only time i've EVER checked records was when i had
    to take 4 boxes--btw, they charge you for more than 2
    checked pieces. fortunately i wasn't going far (lax
    to las vegas--1hr. flight). other than that, i ALWAYS
    take my records as carry-on (i also stick a change of
    clothes in w/the records just in case...). i figure
    if you're not playing any more than 2 or 3 hours, you
    should be able to fit that in 1 record box (take
    comps, and be very selective about singles). another
    trick is to use a record bag as a "personal bag." i
    cram a few more records in along w/said change of
    clothes, cd player (being able to play mp3s of mixes
    really helps when you've got a long trip...) and
    magazines or books.
