    On the thread of artist management, and i wasn't following too closeley so
    forgive any repetition, check out the book "The Business of Artists
    Management" by Frascogna and Hetherington. It was the core of the syllabus
    of a music artist management course i took at sfsu that was taught by a
    respectable entertainment lawyer and artist manager in the bay area.

    While the book was written for would-be managers, it is highly recommended to
    any artist considering obtaining management. It breaks down all aspects of
    the artist-management relationship and even explains some of the more
    complicated issues such as contracts and publishing rights.

    The professors mantra is worth repeating: keep in mind that what is most
    important when obtaining a manager is whether or not you like the person!
    And as always, if youre approached by "managers," remember that if it sounds
    to good to be true, it probably is...
