    Hello All,

I'm writing from New York, where it feels like 7 below zero outside, so
please let me wish you all the best in this coldest of cold winters.

I've been a member of this list for the past 5 years, mostly a lurker, and
    I'm also a musician.
Way back in 97 I'd sent out some free CDs to a number of list members, and I
    appreciated everyone's feedback. It was a jazz/prog rock/funk fusion
recording called "Sound, Mind and Body" recorded under the name ECCO and it
was fun. I'm most likely in violation of some etiquette in this blatant
self-promotion, so I ask your kind indulgence.

As the cultural historians Jake and Ellwood Blues so aptly stated
    roughly 20 years ago:

"We're putting the band back together."

I'm sending this brief email along to announce that ECCO, the band,
will be playing live in NYC this weekend at:

    Kenny's Castaways
    Saturday, February 1st, 2003
    @ 10:00 PM
    136 Bleecker Street, NYC
    212-473-9870

The music is a blend of trip-hop grooves, old school synths, and britpop
    hooks.
To those of you who were with us at our holiday show in December,
    thanks for a great evening!
We're really looking forward to a very exciting show coming up this
Saturday. Their will be some special
guests in the audience, and we really hope that you all are able to
come out and enjoy. We'll be playing new
material from our CD "Tokyosoul" as well as some very recent
    experiments.

By the way, I caught two excellent performances around town this week.
Be sure to check out Schleigho, a jazz fusion
combo touring the Northeast, and The Subterraneans, a staple of
downtown pop/punk, the next time you get a chance.
We'll be adding links to their websites, and to the sites of other
friends and colleagues, in the coming weeks.

If you are out of town, as I know some are, please feel free to forward
this to any local friend whom you think might
enjoy the show. We deeply appreciate any and all of your support as we
sail our new ship into the unknown!

    Take Care
