I was at groovetech.com in London the other week with Hexstatic.
They truly are having problems with the archives and are working on
it...but the live shows are working fine cause when Hexstatic were
down there the other week people were emailing us from all over
the world.
a few alternatives that kept me happy over Christmas:
http://www.ninjatune.net/solidsteel
http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra - urban internet radio from the UK.
Here you can listen to specialist shows from Benji B, reggae, dancehall
and they have a show called the Re-fix and Deviation which I think
everyone on acid-jazz would dig. its worth having a look round at the
specialist shows.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 - Not only is it worth listening to Gilles
Show, but Ross Allens "One World" is brilliant, esp. last weeks Royksopp
special. You can even catch a Cinematic Orchestra set in full in their
archives. And I'm particularly feelin Bobby Friction & Nihals asian break
beat hip hop fusion show which has only been on a few months.
I'm sure David Bassins show is up somewhere online for a listen -
in his signature file & I know theres a few other online radio dj's
on here that I've spoken to in the past... reveal your radio shows!
and no, i'm actually not plugging the BBC cause a bunch of us
arent that happy about Bob Jones Ross Allen Kevin Legendre, Solid Steel
and a few other shows getting kicked off of BBC/London.
it's too bad http://www.jazzfm.com dont archive the late lounge shows
http://www.resonancefm.com is london's new arts radio station online.
the programming is eclectic and out there - one satuday afternoon i
heard 60's mod bachelor pad style soundtracks - yesterday they were
playing what sounded like captured sounds from the beach and voices.
there's a few other stations i've logged onto - like finding the
new orleans gospel station.... but dont have them bookmarked...
