    NEWS
The Gonkyburg show came and went last Friday. But fear not, as the show
will soon be made available online. It'll include some words from one of
the people who coined the term Gonkyburg, Jonas Quant. He wasn't able to
make a contribution prior to showtime due to him trying to wrap up work
on his forthcoming album, but says that he'll deliver the goods very
soon. Hold tight...I'll let you know when the show is online.
    THIS WEEK'S SHOW--AYRO & MIMI
And talking about playing catchup...the special 4-hour broadcast for
Friday September 4th, including musical tributes to the passings of both
Barry White & Herbie Mann, is now available online for listening. Due to
the length of the show, I've divided the audio into two parts for your
    convenience.

    THIS WEEK'S SHOW
Coming up this week will be the Urban Landscapes Profile of Omoa Music
recording artist Ayro. Interviewed just before this year's Movement
festival (formerly called The Detroit Electronic Music Festival), he has
quite a bit to say about life and music. He was a sensation at the 2001
DEMF, and has solidified his talented reputation when his "Drink/Let
This" EP was released on Omoa Music to critical acclaim. In addition to
his compositions, he's also completed remixes for Jazzanova, Fertile
Ground, and John Arnold (with whom he's recently collaborated with for
Ubiquity). He'll soon drop his debut long-player "Electronic Love Funk"
on Omoa. You'll hear some tunes from the album, as well as some of his
    past compositions and remixes.
Afterwards, the Urban Landscapes Guest Mix kicks in. Listen to an
exclusive mix set from Mimi Terris. As one of the members of the
extremely talented and award-winning female vocal trio B.L.E.S.S. (BLue
Eyed Soul Sisters), she's also just released her first solo EP for
Gothenburg's Hollow Recordings. In addition, she's collaborated with
other fellow Gonkyburg members such as Andreas Saag (Swell Sessions,
Stateless) and Ernesto (who, by the way, is her boyfriend). She was
gracious enough to put together her own set, and you'll get to hear it
    on this week's show.
SOUL INVASION & ECLECTIC GROOVES RETURNS
If you're local, remember Soul Invasion is happening at zPie in San Luis
Obispo this Thursday night about an hour after Farmer's Market ends.
We'll be spinning rare soul and funk vibes for the evening. Three DJs
will take the deck: Malik, DJ Calyx, and me. There's no cover for this
event, so come check us out.
And be sure to mark your calendar for our Eclectic Grooves dance event
happening Saturday evening July 26. Jennifer, Calyx, and I are ready to
give you a variety of quality dance sounds from around the world, many
of which you won't hear anywhere else in SLO County and--in some
cases--anywhere else period. So come check it, again at zPie in SLO.
There's no cover for this event.
Both dance events are 18 and over.
    TIL NEXT WEEK...
New music reviews--tons of them--will be in the next circular. Watch for it!
