I see someone has a case of the Mondays!
I wouldn't go so far as saying that their talents are "suspect", but again,
I wouldn't expect any real dynamic type of show, either. The Cinematic
Orchestra have always been more of a "classical jazz" group than a
"performance jazz" group; to me, performing background music for films has
always been the first thing I think of when I listen to them...and that's
not a bad thing. I'm surprised they haven't reworked their live show into
something a little more "live", kinda like the Quantic Soul Orchestra.
Sure, I like the Quantic albums, but they wouldn't blow anyone away in
    concert. Interesting points, though.
Zero 7 live...I've seen plenty of concert footage, and to me, they are just
like any pop band that performs live...and the main reason I see them this
way is because they have 2 really charismatic frontwomen. If Cinematic
would take along Roots Manuva, Fontella Bass, and anyone else they use for
vocals, I think they'd fare better live.
