Greetings,
Memorial Day weekend....an excuse for barbecues and plenty of afternoon drinking, which is a great excuse to make this tome incredibly brief this week.
A listener wrote and enclosed a review of the new Zimpala album that had been translated from Amazon France, using Altavista's Babelfish translation engine:
"The electronic music can greet in Zimpala the arrival of a breeze of innovative freshness, like says it the title of their second album in the form of joke. Zimpala, collective of Bordeaux joined together around the DJ Frederic Beineix, proposes a collection of true songs which pass to broad, carrying dreams. And they are constructions generally strongly accrocheuses, with their gimmicks and of the smiling lucky finds. Tablecloths of synthé of the song-title to the tempo walker of "Mismo + Silencio", one ventures between house, techno and naked-jazz. Something of flexible, where the keyboards and the tempos are welded around strong melodies, which point out memories without one knowing well which. Sometimes, a fugacious flash, the such groove of "Ovni "which rolls like Doors. The voice of Noémie, the singer, will live the space of a verse or two, these compositions which can take airs of jazzanova ("Adios"). Africa also invites itself to the feast, dishevelled perc!
ussions,
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Also on tap for tonight, is the lovely and haunting Liberation from Karsh Kale, more of the multi-artist EP entitled Moving Forward on Switchstance, a preview of the new Pole album (great new direction!) and a gaggle of singles that include hot new tracks from Plej, Amp Fiddler, Osunlade, Clyde (feat. Capital A) and Cabaret Voltaire.
We'll also have tickets for this weekend's live appearance by Spacek at Club Six. I hope you'll tune in.
Ciao for now,
David
