Hi Pedro,
I have just returned from LA myself three days ago with some nice vinyl.
THriftstores generally dont carry as good a selection as
they used to , so you might find it is a waste of time.
For a good updated list of shops and dealers you really
should get a copy of Record collectors news.
It is mandatory reading if you want to get a good start.
I know for sure you can get it here:

Swapmeets and recordconvention.
I went to the recordconvention in Buena park for the third time
ever and as usual there was a great selection of
obscurities over jazz to rare 12"īs , surf , breakbeats et al.
Some dealers sold @ 50 cents .
Priciest item I saw; Beatles - Butchers state @ 9.500$

Last updated 2000, but in case you dont get a copy
of Record collectors news, this will point you to
some good stores still around.

......... and remember, you may bring two suitcases weighing
64 pounds each internationally.
I brought an additional 64 pounds two years ago flying Air France
and the cost was only 125 $ . To my surprise , customs in Denmark
smacked me down for another 150 $ so have your story ready
on hand that you have been gigging or had the records as a present.
Happy digging
Kick Jazz,
Walker

Subject: [acid-jazz] + Record Stores and Events in LA this weekend +
I have a job interview at UCLA this weekend and will be in LA from Friday 11-07 through Tuesday 11-11. Could somebody please backchannel to me any decent record stores in the city of Angels as well as any noteworthy events happening this weekend. Any and all leads are greatly appreciated.
