STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)
Hello all
Anyone seen the words "Bugz in the Attic remix" anywhere lately? Or maybe
everywhere? From massive pop artists like Macy Gray to MAW Records in New
York to countless UK and European releases, these guys are definitely
getting around. Of course, having a crew of 9 to share the load does help.
So for roll call we have Orin Walters, Seiji, Kaidi Tatham, Daz-I-Kue, Alex
Phountzi, Cliff Scott, Mark Force, Thy Lord and Mikey Stirton. If there's
any doubt left that these 9 are not key figures in the West London/broken
beat/Co-op scene, then check out some of the other aliases they are linked
to: Afronaught, BB Boogie, Agent K, Neon Phusion, DKD, Likwid Biskit,
Opaque, etc. Their Bitasweet label has put out one of the tunes of the year
in the reworked Fela rework "Zombie 2003". And they now have a mix CD in the
Fabric Live series out, which is the only place you can currently get the
great new Umod (aka Domu) tune "Tromboline".

Elvis Aljus will no doubt be getting jiggy with the Oaks Day ladies at Open
Sesame tonight, but he should also be hitting some mean percussion too, so
drop by if you can. Tomorrow's Stylin will feature a guest mix from Tokyo
producer and DJ Koichi Ozaki aka Eurasian Suite.
until then
