*NEWS*
Quite a bit of happens going on of late, so here we go...
*Last Week's Broadcast*
You can now find last week's show (Friday November 14) online at the
show's home page, including the playlist and the audio for the
broadcast. Be sure to check the info toward the bottom of this
circular for more.
*This Week's Urban Landscapes Guestmix*
I have one of the last Urban Landscapes Guestmix segments of 2003 on
tap. This week is an exclusive mix from Gerd & DJ Pathless. Gerd is
currently working on his debut album from 4Lux, due in 2004. He took
a break from their recording sessions and both he and Pathless were
gracious enough to record a mix set for the show. Be sure to tune in
for that one!
*Break Reform Article In MundoVibes*
If you haven't checked out the webzine MundoVibes, you should do so.
It's a well-designed web zine with interviews, music reviews, and
much much more. JC does a great job of keeping it running with
quality content.
Take a look on the site, as there's a brand new article written by
yours truly. It's an interview with Abstract Blue recording artists
Break Reform. I've been telling you about the excellent album
"Fractures" earlier in the year, and it was a real treat for Simon
S. (one of the members of the trio) to take some time to answer
questions about the band, as well as other matters.
Check the article on the web site at http://www.mundovibes.com.
Please note a couple of items:
1. The vocalist's name is Nanar, not Hahar.
2. Simon S. has asked that you visit
http://www.abstractbluerecordings.com for all the latest info
related to Break Reform & the Abstract Blue label.

Music Reviews on the Urban Landscapes Web Site*
And while I'm on the subject of music reviews, check out the latest
in the Reviews section of the show's site.. Reviews include new
singles from Talk & Mikado on Perfect Toy, the Stampede Remix EP
from the Quantic Soul Orchestra and the dope new TM Juke debut album
on Tru Thoughts, and some previously unreleased gems from Roy Ayers
on BBE. Those reviews, plus other new reviews, will be in next
week's circular
*Velanche Reviews for XLR8R in 2004*
It's now official. I'm happy to say that I will be writing music
reviews for San Francisco's XLR8R Magazine. Many of you know that
it's one of the best American magazines of music and culture for our
"scene," so it's an honor to be part of the family. Look for the
goods starting with issue #74. A tip of the hat to Ron Nachmann for
the invite.
*Soul Invasion The Day Before Turkey Day*
Yes, we dare do the deed...it's Soul Invasion, our new montly
funk/soul event brought to you jointly by KCPR 91.3 FM and the
Jivari Soundtribe (our new local DJ collective), a new local
collective of DJs and artists.
This month it will be me, Malik Miko (KCBX's Night Train) and DJ
Calyx (KCPR's WEFUNK) on the decks.
If you want to fight boredom the Wednesday night before
Thanksgiving, then come to SLO Brew in downtown SLO starting at
10:00pm. It's free before 11:00pm and then $3-5 thereafter. You must
be 21+ to get through the door. Come support the best in soul and
funk music right here in SLOtown.
The next Soul Invasion will be Wednesday December 17, so mark your
calendars!
*DJ Ender from Nuspirit Helsinki in San Francisco*
Indeed, one of the members of the excellent Finnish collective will
be touring North America, and he'll be making stops in California.
I'm planning on being in San Francisco the Friday after Thanksgiving
(November 28), joining Tom Thump once again as well as some other
DJs joining Mr. Thump on the decks. The event will take place at the
lovely 111 Minna Street Museum. If you're in the area and would like
to hook up, feel free to let me know by shooting me an email. And if
I do go, then something will happen...
*Urban Landscapes Pre-empted Next Week*
That's right...after this week, no show the following week. But the
show will return on Friday December 5, as we start to do the "Best
Of" shows. More details coming soon, so hold tight!
*
Soon To Come...*
* The 'Best of" Year-End Broadcasts--details soon
