STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)
Hello all
Top Kiwi DJ and producer Chris Cox joined me in the studio last week as well
as for a fine session at Open Sesame with keys maestro Dave Wright. Chris
headed back to Auckland today to plenty of activities including finishing a
new EP with his production crew Thisinformation for Capital Recordings,
finishing his mix CD for Mark de Clive-Lowe's Antipodean label, running the
Places & Spaces club night at Khuja Lounge with some killer guests coming up
over summer, and hosting a radio show with Zen every Sunday afternoon from
4-6pm (Auckland time) on George FM. And if you haven't checked the first
Thisinformation 12", then get to it - the track "Galaxy Blues" is a killer.

A little something happening tonight which I forgot to mention during last
week's show is a Filmoteca screening of 2 documentaries about Colombian and
Venezuelan hip hop. The night kicks off with a performance of rap (in
Spanish) + beat box by local exponents MC Andres + Alianza plus an on-screen
exhibition of Latin American graffiti. It starts at 730pm at ACMI in
Federation Square, conveniently just around the corner from Honkytonks where
Kano and I will be Open Sesame-ing from 10pm.
This Friday will be Halloween, so I thought I'd keep in the spirit with a
guest mix from the creepily-named West London collective Bugz in the Attic.
For those who listen from outside Melbourne, check the new times below as
we've just gone to daylight saving here.
until then
