Hi all!
These are purely an opinion as i am a nobody so you can take it or leave.
Keep your 1200's if you don't skratch/juggle.
The Vestax PDX's are great tables and they get better and better as each
design comes out.
(i own PDX-1a's which are the model before the PDX-2000's came out)
The main difference apart from the ones noted (torque and speed adjustment)
is the straight arm design.
I dont' care what anyone tells you...straight arm design IS NOT Intended for
club/mixing/mixtape use.
In the end it'll damage your prized vinyl instead of playing it correctly
because of the way the straight arm design pulls inward.
It's is purely inteded for keeping that needle dug into the groove so that
it doesn't skip...where fidelity is comrpised vs performance.
Only tracks in the direct center of the vinyl play with the intended
fidelity...tracks in the outer and inner portion of the vinyl loose low and
high end (great for skratching freeeeeeesh and aaaaaaaaaaahhs but terrible
for deep bass heavy tracks)
In other words...if you aren't doing some type of tablist activity skip on
the PDX 2000's
If you are interested in a similar deisgn from vestax they do make the PDX
digital series (red colored table not the black ones)
which is the digitally controlled S arm table with selectable speed
adjustments and similar if not better torque than the PDX 2000...
also, technics has the MK5 with new improved features as well...also i hear
great things about the numark's that look like spage age tanks but i haven't
tried them myself...
thanks for reading...here's a real audio file of my turntable antics...hope
you enjoy!!!

All, I have occasion to be tempted to sell my old 1200s and trade them
in for
Vestax PDX-2000s. I have played on them before and I like them. I
LOVE the +/-
50% pitch control...that's THE selling point for me. Anyone have any
horror
stories or complaints to disuade me from giving up my pair of Old
Faithfuls?
