STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

Thanks to Cedric Sarret for dropping in to Stylin last week with a bag full
of French tunes. Formerly, based in Paris, Cedric now calls Sydney home and
is doing his bit to bring French urban sounds to Australia through DJing and
a label he is involved in called the Letter F. Their first compilation
(named after the label) is out now.

Easter weekend is looking like being a good one. Thursday night should be a
big one at Open Sesame with the return of Filhos da Bahia for a live
capoeira performance at Honkytonks. If you've never seen capoeira before,
it's an incredible Brazilian synthesis of martial arts, dance and music.
Some special guest capoeira masters from Brazil will also be along to
perform. Kano and I will be laying on plenty of Brazilan beats before and
after. Friday I have Canadian scratch DJ Kid Koala coming into Stylin to
play a set. Saturday is a bumper Bust a Nut at First Floor with Kano,
percussionist Elvis Aljus, Blue MC and Eddit. And Monday night I'll be
warming up for legendary jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, who's bringing
his quartet to the Prince. If you're regretting having missed Femi Kuti,
don't let this chance pass you by!

    until then
    Ennio Styles
