    4th Annual Hip-Hop Conference

    Monday April 19th

    Keynote Speaker: Krs-One 6:30pm Colony Ballroom.
    Limited seating. Hip-hop pioneer Krs-One speaks on the
    state of the hip-hop nation.

    Tuesday April 20th

    Panel Discussion: Politics and the Hip-Hop Generation
    4-6pm Prince George’s Room. Can the hip-hop generation
    become a political force? Why or why not? What is the
    political agenda of the hip-hop community? Join
    University professors, local artists and politicians
    for an interactive discussion.

    Movie: “Beef” 8pm Prince George’s Room. A showing of a
    movie that chronicles “beefs” within hip-hop both past
    and present.

    Wednesday April 21st

    Tupac Shakur: Keeping it Real versus Keeping it Right.
    1pm-3pm Prince Georges Room Presentation by Prof. A.
    J. Ryan of George Mason Universityt will examine the
    duality of Tupac Shakur by examining the lyrics in his
    first four albums and dissecting the often hidden
    philosophy of the late great emcee.

    Screening of Real Hip-Hop Network 3pm-5pm Prince
    George’s Room. Come preview an upcoming all hip-hop
    television network! Screenings begin at 3pm and at
    4pm.

    Sweet Justis: An Original Play by UMCP student Jasmine
    E. Coles 7pm Colony Ballroom Limited Seating. Come see
    an original play written, directed and produced by
    students. Stars students Hank Rawlerson, Tia Salmon,
    Jillian George, Frank Nasir, Chontelle Matthews.

    Thursday April 22nd

    Panel Discussion: Religion and Hip-Hop 3pm-5pm Prince
    George’s Room. How do hip-hop artists convey their
    religious beliefs? How do religious communities react
    to the hip-hop generation? Can there be viable
    religion-based hip-hop music? Come join local artists,
    preachers and practitioners of various faiths for an
    interactive discussion.

    BSU and See Review Board Present: The Clipse 7pm Grand
    Ballroom. Tickets available at Stamp Student Union
    Ticket Office. 2$/Students, 5$/Non-Students.
