i'm seeing a trend of people saying that they are
*doing* instead of posting, and i have to say that
that's definitely contributed to me being less of my
usual loudmouth self. when i joined i was first
getting into email and net stuff (thanks elson!) and
holding down some part-time job in a record store.
now that there's fewer stores and i'm making 100% of
my income from writing or playing (spinning) music,
    i'm:

    1. catching up on old stuff that i missed
    2. not getting as much new stuff (it's harder to get
    because there's fewer sources)
    3. posting on sites rather than lists (more
    interactive)
    4. getting my own stuff working for me
    5. playing out more (and working harder to get better
    gigs)
    6. lurking mostly

the nature of how people communicate online, and get
info has changed and i think the posts (or lack of)
    have shown that.

that's my .25 (inflation affected) on the matter.
