    Greetings,

Wow - the end of the year is nearly upon us and
that means the annual year-end wrap-up shows. I
haven't put together the definitive list yet, so
I'm undecided whether to go for the historically
massive three-show extravaganza, or pair down to
    a more svelte two-parter.

One thing I do know however, is that next week
(12/21) I'll be filling in for Harry Duncan while
he's off to the freezing Midwest and playing two
hours of jazz, roots, blues and R&B from 8-10pm.
The following week (12/28), we'll have three
hours of FreeFall, beginning at 9pm, which will
allow some extra time to toss in a few holiday
tunes in addition to the year-end festivities.

As for tonight, there are still a few recent
releases to premiere, such as High Society - the
new album from High Contrast and an advance peek
at the forthcoming album from Stratus (Matt
Anthony & Martin Jenkins) - a British duo known
in certain circles for their remixes of Lambchop,
Serge Gainsbourg and Calexico. The good folks at
Switzerland's Klein Records sent out four tracks
ranging from dark to dancey, including the
forthcoming single, "Vapour." Also from Klein is
the new album entitled, I-Wolf & Burdy Meet The
Babylonians - a collaboration between Wolfgang
Schlögl (Sofa Surfers), Burdy (from Baby Mammoth)
and a series of guests that include Shaun Ryder,
DJ Collage, the Karandila Brass Band (from
Bulgaria) and others. The sounds range from
hip-hop to ragga to acid disco and are all
    extremely tight.

On the ticket front, we'll be giving away passes
for Kinky, appearing at the Independent this
Saturday night. Everyone who's seen their live
show has come away raving, so don't miss your
    chance to go for free...

That's if for this week - I hope you'll be listening!

    Ciao for now,
    David
