Soul-Patrol Top 25 CD Releases of 2004
This year’s list is quite intriguing and represents a indicator as to how “soul music” is
evolving here at the end of 2004. In my opinion the music continues to evolve from several
different perspectives and it should be interesting to see how many from this list of mostly
independent artists will get any attention from the "mainstream".
In order to compile this listing I went back and looked at all of the CD reviews that I did
over the course of the past year. We reviewed over 100 new releases during the course of 2004
so these selections were not easy to make. Some of the names you know, some of them I hope
that you will come to know. Rest assured that these are the CD's that occupied most of my
personal listening time during the course of 2004.
First up is the overall Soul-Patrol Top 25 2004 releases. Then it's the Top 10 in Funk,
Classic Soul, Jazz, Southern Soul/Blues & Nu Soul. Then we have the Top 10 songs/singles of
2004.
enjoy...
