Greetings,
I hope everyone had a fab Xmas and that Santa (or is it Satan?) gave
you everything you deserved.
The hand-wringing is finally over and the tally for the best music of
2004 has been compiled. As in the past, it's a long list, but I make
no apologies for my lack of restraint. I really liked these albums /
singles / compilations and I hope that you'll make an effort to seek
some of them out, if you haven't already done so. You can view the
entire list, including my picks in a number of other genres, by going
to:
and clicking on the Best Of 2004 link at the top of the page.
Of course, there's the problem of trying to play as many of these
records as possible in the space of two weeks. Tonight we'll begin at
9pm, giving us a full three hours of music, then back post-new year's
for the regular two-hour soiree. I hope you'll tune in!
Once again I'd like to thank everyone for helping to make the show so
enjoyable to produce: the labels for all your support, the folks in
the Bay Area who call in week after week with positive feedback and
the online listeners from around the globe who have really helped to
spread the word far and wide. Special thanks to Steven from
RadioTake10.org and Jeff at NetMusique for the rebroadcasts and
enthusiasm.
I'll see you all in 2005 - have a safe and sane new year's!
Ciao for now,
David
