ok.
hmmmm... maybe it has more to do with the lack of original releases within
the 'genre / scene'... sure, there are still a few cats (irfane, yam-who,
theo parrish, q-tip...) pushin' the jazz biznizz forward but all'n'all the
glory days are over!
jazzanova (compost in general), bugz (west london in general), madlib (how
did he EVER get so popular!?), zerox 7, pharrell (shut the fuck up ok?!),
herbert (wtf was that big band pile o' shite all about!?), dwele (where the
fuck is bilal!?), etc, etc... they've all made there marks now lets get on
with things...
now i don't want the world to become all mash-ups and disco punk but thank
god for peeps like metro area, akufen, dizzee rascal, trevor jackson,
outkast, chicken lips, etc, etc for pushin' contemporary 'dance/electronic'
music forward!
its time to have fun again, no?
dance, dance, dance!
yosah, yowsah, yowsah!
d-town.
