this could be the first step at getting Solid Steel back onto the BBC (albeit one of the digital stations)........ if we could get a lot of responses to 6mix_at_bbc.co.uk about how deserving the show is.... well, it would make an impact.

The Solid Steel radio show makes a return to the airwaves of the BBC this Sunday 29th from 7-9pm UK time. Solid Steel has been invited, for one night only, to take over the 6Mix slot on the excellent digital station BBC 6Music.

Coldcut kick off the show by re-tweeking some of their hottest mixes of past months and drop in a generous helping of exclusive new mash ups - listen out for their cheeky '7 Nation Rip Off' - worth the price of a DAB receiver alone. Strictly Kev wins the applause with an amazing mix of five tunes based on 'The Clapping Song' - that man has too many good records - and producer DK hits you with an exciting blend of old, new and downright essential music that'll have you running to your nearest record shop.
