Do I really need to go into detail about this man? Well probably not, but I am going to anyway! A singer, songwriter and vibes player extraordinaire. Quite simply – he invented the strands and growth of jazz in directions that are the roots of so much music today. “Everybody Loves the Sunshine” is fairy atop the tree, but it goes way deeper than that and crosses 5 decades from 1960’s. With devotees across the world of all generations, he has remained a popular and consistent studio and live performer. Vital contributions and collaborations with Guru on the seminal “Jazzmatazz” album, sampled to death by the likes of Tribe Called Quest and part of the all star project that was Nu Yorican Sol. In short – a jazz colossus.

LATEST RELEASE NEWS & GOSSIP (Don’t forget ... It’s a secret..)
It seems like blasphemy to talk of days when the winter nip and afternoon darkness will return, but everyone seems to have their thinking caps on for when to release records and cd’s after the “camping a field/summer holidays/ lazy drinks by the pool/outdoor” season draws to an inevitable close.
First of the blocks in the Autumn will be Nicola Conte – with his highly anticipated album for Bluenote – which will be set for a mid-September release. Closely followed by Fertile Ground – who have the first single from their new batch of work “Live in the light” – released in October with DJ Spinna remixes to boot. Full album to follow. Also due for Autumn and Winter is Mustang Project (Alex Attias) on Compost. Break Reform – 2nd LP is all but finished – new singles in 2004 and early 2005 for the full release and further remixes.
Remixes wise – Yam Who are of coarse been living off strobe lighting, pot noodles, take away Chinese and herbal tea as they are simply not allowed to leave their studio. Remixes for Madrid de Los Austrias, Maddvillian (Stones Throw), Break Reform and a special rework for the next Rewind comp on Ubiquity. Break Reform themselves have given a special soul twist to a Sandbog track – available through Hinterland. Domu and Nu Spirit Helsinki have given the treatment for some forthcoming 12” for New York connoisseurs ObliqSound – whom you will be hearing a lot about in 2004.
