++REVIEWS++
// Jazzanova - Glow and Glare / Dance the Dance 12" - Sonar Kollektiv \\
JCR is dead! Long live JCR! Jazzanova official killed off their JCR imprint
with Compost Records at the start of 2004 to focus on their own Sonar
Kollektiv label which has been turning out excellent future jazz nuggets for
last 7 years. The first Jazzanova-related releases comes in the form of 2
remixes by Atjazz and Ame (an upcoming SK artist). I was doggin' Atjazz
pretty hard in one of my other reviews, but they show me up in style by
recreating my least favorite cut from 'In Between' into a sparking jazzhouse
gem. Most of the original elements are kept intact but the horn section and
reprogrammed drums give the track a fresh, live feel. A good choice for
transitioning into a house set. The Ame mix of Glow and Glare is the winner
though. Booming kick drums, crispy-fried percussion, fuzzy analog organ
stabs and hypnotic, synth swells stack up into a stomping,
detroit-tech-house winner. This 12 should be hot with a variey of DJs and
not just Jazzanova fans.
