There's a new album out in the re:jazz series by INFRACom.
This is Reverse Engineering jazz. That is, take a modern club hit, and
make an interpretation as if it were a jazz standard. Fun idea. I think
it works rather well as a concept.
The new album "Point of View" is just out. For this album they have
changes the artists performing. This time you'll find Jhelisa, Ultra
Naté, Nils Petter Molvaer, Viktoria Tolstoy, etc. The lineup is strong.
It has a very jazzy feeling, even more than the previous albums.
The original songs are from Soul II Soul, Air, Jazzanova, UFO, Kruder &
Dorfmeister etc! There's no way you can wrong with material like that...
I give it 10 out of 10.
Highlight:
Jhelisa doing Goldie's Inner City Life.
