    Hi Folks -

Long time no see. Nice to know this list is still going strong?

A little (re) intro...My name is Elson Trinidad, from Los Angeles, CA, USA.
I was one of the original charter members of this list back in 1993
(a-jazz-l in da house! :)) when I was in college. To cut a long story
short, I was heavily active in the list back then, not to mention the fact
that I was a musician (singer, keyboardist, bassist) that had my own
funk/acid jazz bands spanning from '93 to '98.

In the late 90s, springing from the drum n bass discussions on this list, I
caught the electronica bug, got tired of playing in a band and did
electronic music exclusively (albeit the more soulful kind - DnB, 2-step,
broken-beat, downtempo, house). I became electronic artist e:trinity
(www.e-trinity.org) and didn't even DJ but did a LivePA act and released
    two albums.

Well, what comes around goes around. In the part few years, I've gotten
tired of and uninspired by electronica, felt it's reached this stagnant
plateau, and missed playing (and singing) with live musicians. So starting
this year, I got some musically talented friends I've known of the years
together, revived some old funky/soulful jams I wrote, added some new ones
and perform under my first name. We've played three gigs so far this year
and I've been having a blast.

Anyway, on the night of my 33rd birthday, I went to Erik's (wassup?) site
and was pleased to see the list still existing. Recently I was inspired by
a song I heard on the radio ("Evil Vibrations" by the Rebirth (on
Ubiquity)) and it felt like there's this resurgence going on, I dunno. I
don't care. I'm back here to reconnect with AJ heads, find about cool new
music to buy (and stuff in my iPod, heheh) and probably reach out to some
folks who might have some interest in my music. I guess I'm just resuming
what I did back in the day...

If anyone wants to check out my tunes, feel free to visit www.elsongs.com -
It's a little on the R&B-sh tip, but then it sounds nothing like Usher or
    anything like that. :)

    See ya 'round,
    Elson
