Nobody here should take this as an endorsement.
I have some serious issues with BOTH Mr. (Frankenstein) Kerry and Mr. (Emperor II) Bush that
are outside of the scope of this forum to discuss.
However the issue of MEDIA CONSOLIDATION is something that is within the scope of this forum
to discuss.
Media consolidation is a large reason why commercial radio sucks.
It has led to the creation of the nationwide network of "knee-gro radio stations", the demise
of high quality Black music on commercial radio and with it the ability of most (if not all)
of the artists here on Soul-Patrol to get airplay via commercial radio.
It is also the reason why many of our legendary air personalities are no longer able to be
heard on commercial radio
I know that a lot of you are interested in the topic of MEDIA CONSOLIDATION.
Here are a group of articles which attempt to place the views of the two major candidates in
context.

"If Kerry is elected president, he will be in a position to influence
the media landscape. Encouraged by President Bush and lobbyists for the
major networks, a Republican-dominated Federal Communications Commission
sought last year to ease limits on media consolidation at the local and
national levels. Kerry, who notes that he voted in the Senate to
maintain the controls against consolidation, says he would set a
different course by appointing FCC commissioners who are more
sympathetic to diversity of ownership, competition and local control"

"One of the major reasons that I'm going to suck it up and vote for a
Democrat this time is that I think we need a general regime change in
the U.S. It's not just about Bush, but Cheney, Rumsfel, Wolfowitz,
Perle, and also Powell. Not Colin Powell, he's out anyway, it's Michael
Powell that I want gone."

"Big media companies are striking out in efforts to bat away some of the
uncertainty over how much they will be allowed to own, and the final
answers may hinge on who is elected president."

"Media consolidation, an issue that galvanized millions of Americans in
2003 is nowhere to be found on the election map of 2004. That was until
Sunday, when Senator John Kerry ventured forth on CSPAN to confirm that,
had he been around to vote on last year's proposal to loosen rules
against media ownership, he would have voted against it."
