Hola,
As always, sounds abound and this week we'll be turning the spotlight
on new albums from Quasimodo, Troubleman, Christopher O'Riley (his
second collection of piano interpretations of Radiohead songs),
Babatunde Lea, Variable Unit, rare Sun Ra and too many singles to
mention.
We'll have more tickets for this Friday's Sound Tribe Sector Nine
show at the Warfield, as well as passes for a Sunday afternoon
performance at the California Legion Of Honor, featuring Matt
Wilson's Arts' & Crafts Band. His 2004 Palmetto album "Wake Up (To
What's Happening)" was one of my favorite new jazz releases of last
year and one of the most endearing and creative in recent memory. I
strongly encourage you to check this disc out at
http://www.palmetto-records.com and if you're local, the live gig.
Ciao for now,
David
