    Hola,

Do you like surprises? Good....then you'll be happy to hear that our
guest on tonight's show will be one of the two blokes who go by the
name Yam Who! Over the last couple of years, this dynamic production
duo has added some serious additional boogie factor to scores of
major playas in the dance community and bring down the house at their
DJ gigs around the world. We'll hear some of their latest work, some
of which may actually be formally released! By the way, I'm not sure
I'm allowed to divulge our guest's real name, so you'll have to tune
in to find out what it is.......

Having a last-minute guest means that I'll be lucky to squeeze in
this week's bountiful sack 'o discs that include the latest albums
from The Herbaliser, Platinum Pied Pipers, The Rebirth, the wild
Japanese jazz of Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, Prefuse 73, Shantel, Midival
Punditz, Hydroponic Sound System and others too numerous to mention.

If that wasn't enough, there are tickets for shows this week by
Jeremy Ellis, Shirley Horn, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Thievery
    Corporation....speaking of Thievery Corporation, we'll feature a
guest mix from the ESL boys next week, in anticipation of their
    upcoming Warfield appearance.

Finally, unlike many of you, I don't know much about the Hitchhiker's
Guide To The Galaxy (save for a number of sound samples that I used
to have on an old Mac), but I went to a screening of the movie
earlier this evening and had one of the best times I've had in the
theater so far this year. Members of the audience came dressed in
bathrobes and carried towels and they seemed to be having a blast, so
based on this meager empirical evidence, I can recommend the film
with little or no reservation. The creatures rock, the cast (Mos Def,
Martin Freeman [The Office], John Malkovich, Zooey Deschanel, Sam
Rockwell) are wonderful and Alan Rickman as the voice of Marvin the
    Robot is appropriately pathetic.

    That's it - I'm out....until next week.....don't panic!
    David
