Well this is the last survey for the year.
All based on our server logs.
We will be back with a new survey next month for Jan/05
A Little Trend Analysis
--------------------------------
- BLACK AMERICAN STANDARD MUSIC: that is the only term that I can use to accuratly describe
the content of this list. It's just plain good music regardless of the source and site
visitors seem to love it.
- NEW MUSIC: Of the 40 shows 12 of them feature new music. I'm certianly glad to see that.
What I would like to see more of is music fans not just using Soul-Patrol.Net Radio to listen
to new music, but I'd also like to see them buying the music in big numbers as well and buying
it directly from the artists who create it. We will continue to play as much new music as we
can in the hope that people will start "taking the hint", that they also need to start buying
the music as well. Otherwise, how can we resonably expect the artists to continue to create
it?
- OLD MUSIC: It constantly amazes me how people will use the internet to listen to old music,
that if they are fans of, they should aready own a copy of? I wonder why? Or perhaps that is
the wrong conclusion to draw, maybe the right conclusion is that new fans are discovering old
music?
- COMING IN 05: More online listening parties, where you can review the CD's. New music from
Chi-Lites, Alison Crocket, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Cooly's Hot Box, Will Wheaton,
PhatFunkClique, James Brown, Weapon of Choice, Manhattans, Oscar Jordan, Nancy Wilson, Mighty
Sam McClain, and more. New regular shows featuring House/Dance music, Acid Jazz, more
interviews and more, more more (so stay tuned)
- THANKS: to all of you for listening to our "experiment" with internet radio (over 70,000 of
you each month actually listen to these shows), thanks to the artists who permitted us to play
their music and to the DJ's from around the world who helped make it all happen!
