It's ironic that one of the most bootlegged bands in the history of hip hop should make a return and a reunion into a world where bootlegging has become an accepted and legitimate process. Don't tell the ULTRAMAGNETIC MC's this. It's almost impossible to calculate how much money people have made off them over the years that they have not seen a penny of.
But the whining is done - then is then and now is now - and they are back in a big way. After rumours and counter rumours that they were going to have new material - the original line up of Kool Keith, Ced Gee, TR Love and DJ Moe Love and now also Tim Dog all firing on full cylinders and after 13 years of solo projects and a place in the hip hop hall of fame - their new album "Dirty Laundry" aims to kick up some dust and upset the apple cart in the corporate surroundings that hip hop has found itself.

Excited and focused for a new year - and with Best Kept Secret entering its 3rd year of operations, a number of artists have new records out that we have seen develop and been made since the day dot - a great privilege indeed.
We certainly hope - that in the downbeat world and beyond - that this year will belong to BREAK REFORM. There first new offering at the end of 2004 - "Waiting" - accompanied by a ludicrously good DOMU remix - will be followed by a second single - "And I" in February - this time with YAM WHO? and SIDEWINDER remixes. The full album will drop in late April and its hot, hot heat -seriously big for this year. Other breakthrough artists this year will be HEAVY - taking U.S soul in all its historical glory and vamping (and camping it) up to a new level completely. The album is mainly in the can and European labels have sharpened the teeth eager for flesh. DRUMAGICK will launch their own label - D-RECS - with 4 tracks ready to move and groove. Watch this space. TM JUKE will release his 2nd album with Tru Thoughts over the summer as well as find time to produce the bulk of ALICE RUSSELL's album. DOMU ran tings last year - he had a flyer - and another DOMU album will be ready soon for public offering as well. JAZZTRONIK - to follow up with the massive success of the spine tingling good "Samurai" will release a brand new album with Gav Smith's new imprint, Pantone Music - Brighton gets bigger, better and brighter. Look out also for a space jazz odyssey of Sun-Ra Proportions from LEO TARDIN, an old skool hip hop to broken beat block party funkshun from Dutch trio KRAAK & SMAAK and fellow countryman GERD has a bomb of an album to come in Spring featuring ERNESTO, GUIDA DE PALMA, DEE FERGUSON, VANESSA FREEMAN & MARILYN DAVID amongst others ..A brand new vocal sensation from Brazil - the daughter of AZYMUTH no doubt - SABRINA MAHEIROS..
