---- NEWS Urban Landscapes Radioshow 8.2, with the week's guestmix from Compost Records artist/producer Ben Mono (recorded this month), is now online for listening. From this show onward, the audio quality will be encoded at about 64kbps to improve the overall sound quality. Hope you like it; comment and feedback are welcome. The playlist for the broadcast is on the home page. VELANCHE'S GIG INFO Tonight's gig at The Dwelling in SLO has been cancelled. We will be there one week from tonight, on February 4th. This Saturday night launches the second night of a new dance club in San Luis Obispo. Formerly known as B'Witched, 673 Higuera features a small but intimate decor and a full bar. KCPR will be representing this Saturday night. I'll be there, along with DJ Loco from the Club 91 mix show. We'll also have Marcus with us, a house/Latin DJ who has recently joined our motley crew. We'll have a variety of styles, including house, funk, worldbeats (Afro/Latin/Brazilian/more), hip-hop, and more. There's no cover for the event, which will start at around 10:30pm. You must be 21 or older to attend. We hope you'll be there for what we hope will be the start of a good thing for dance music in our town, which is sorely lacking. Come out and party with us! VELANCHE'S MIX THIS WEEK ON DEPARTMENT DELUXE As far as I know, I've just completed my first radio mix for another radioshow. I've been asked by Jan Siegmund of Department Deluxe Radio in Stuttgart, Germany (beautiful city, by the way) for a mix, and I've just completed one that's ready to air. I'm honored to do the deed, with the end result being a mixture of funky soul and old school disco vibes. The mix should be part of his broadcast this week. You can find out more info on the show online at http://www.department-deluxe.org. A guestmix from Jan should be coming sometime in the spring. Meanwhile, do check his show because it's surely worth your valuable time. Time to move on, for now. Enjoy the music, and have a great weekend! ---- VELANCHE'S SOUNDSCAPES January 2005 (in no particular order) 1. Pascal Rioux featuring Mr. Day - Don't Outstay Outside 2 Nite EP (Rotax CD-R) 2.
