Howdy y'all,
Not a lot to impart this evening, 'cept to mention a few new
releases: Minimum-Maximum is the new double live album from Kraftwerk
and there's enough nuance to convince you that they actually do play
live! Matthew Herbert is back with Plat Du Jour, a more glitchy
excursion with a couple of funky sidebars, but by and large, more
about sound than music. Filet Of Soul by Tassel & Naturel is their
second collection of deep beats and melodies that's great for kickin'
back with the homiez or the shorties...The Out of Towner from Ben
Human is all over the musical map and always keeps it interesting,
whether he's in downtempo or techno mode. Monolake return with
Polygon-Cities - more low frequency pulsations for the high-tech
landscape and Cosmic Sounds London drop two stunning collections of
rare jazz bizness from Hungary. Volume one was compiled by Tom
Weiland, the second by Keyser & Shuriken and all have done a bang-up
job of picking some very dope tracks. Definitely keep your eyes out
for these two new gems.
OK...I'm out and off to fight with the mail!
Ciao for now,
David
