STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne (GMT +11)
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au (see below for global times)

    Hello all

After I've been talking so much about John Legend on the show for the last year or more, it was time to get someone else to come in and talk about John Legend. The obvious choice was ... John Legend. John dropped into the studio for a chat the day after his Melbourne show which he tells us was part of a world tour that hasn't stopped all year. He is starting to gather songs together now for his second studio album and hinted at the possibility of an acoustic tour to promote that album. As regular listeners have probably gathered, I'm still more a fan of his acoustic material and performances, so this is definitely something to look forward to. He has made a couple of recent appearances on other albums which are worth checking, one on Miri Ben-Ari's 'The Hip Hop Violinist' (she did the strings on 'Live it Up', my fave from JL's 'Get Lifted' album) and the other on 'So Amazing - An All-Star Tribute to Luther Vandross'.

Next time, we'll have a mix from Deja Vu Records' main man, Paolo Scotti, with lots of jazz rarities.

And don't forget that my previous guest Ben Mono (Compost Records, Germany) hits Melbourne on Thursday night (6/10) to join Kano and I for a freestyle Open Sesame session at Honkytonks. Email back for some guestlist action.
