Howdy y'all,
The SFJazz Fall Season has begun and it's an intense, concentrated
couple of weeks. Tonight we'll have tickets for (take a deep breath):
Dave Douglas, Mose Allison, Patricia Barber, George Cables with Gary
Bartz and Bobby Hutcherson, Pancho Sanchez and last but not least,
Yusef Lateef! Next week it's Ornette Coleman and the West Coast debut
of Konono No.1....I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
Musically, we have the soulful sounds of Carleen Anderson, Don E and
Bettye Lavette, the new compilation, "San Francisco Under A Groove,"
jazzy dub from Channel U, new singles from Chimp Beams, Jugoe and
Overtone and a slew of additional audio tidbits. I hope you'll join
me!
Ciao for now,
David
