Freesoul Sessions resumes it's monthly residency at London's Jazz
Cafe this week completing a superb double-bill for the night [soul
star Omar performs the 9pm slot] featuring a proper all-star lineup
with MdCL joined by Bembe Segue, Kaidi Tatham [Agent K/Bugz in the
Attic], Jason Yarde [Future Sounds of Jazz] and DJ Dego [4Hero/

MPC and keyboards is joined by a rotating cast of top soul, jazz, hip
hop and beat-artists coming together in the spirit of total
improvisation. Everything you hear is improvised, created on the
spot. Jump-up guests at past Freesoul shows have included Jaguar

-- J DILLA TRIBUTE On February 10th we lost one the greatest beatmaker/producers of our generation - James Yancey, aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla, produced classics for A Tribe Called Quest, D'angelo, Erykah Badu, Common, Slum Village and plenty more. He inspired every beatmaker on the planet and significantly changed the sound of hip hop and soul music over the past 10+ years. He was a true original in a day and age when such a person is truly very rare. Dilla died of complications from lupus and will be remembered for many many years to come all over the planet. The official UK J Dilla Tribute is on March 5 at Westbourne Studios, London with guests Benji B, Dego, Eric Lau and more. Endorsed by Stones Throw Records (who released Dilla's new album Donuts last week as well) and with all proceeds going to the Lupus Foundation and Dilla's mother, this is a very special event that we hope anyone in London will make the effort to attend. Spread Love! MdCL will unfortunately not be able to be part of the event as he will be on tour in SE Asia. More info at http://www.jaydeetribute.com We send our most heartfelt condolences to Dilla's family and loved ones and say thank you and godspeed to the stars to one of the masters of the game. R.I.P.
