[acid-jazz] Acid Jazz Radio network???

In looking at the responses to my "Last 5" question I noted the diversity in
the musical selections.
Given my knowlege of the people here on this mailing list that is no
surprise to me.

I remember back to previous times when someone has complained about the lack
of conversation on this mailing list, one of the reasons stated was that...

"people are too busy promoting themselves to engage in conversation here..."

So I decided to take a visit over to the Acid Jazz Server website which our
man Erik B maintains over at the following url:
http://www.cmd.uu.se/AcidJazz/Radio/

I counted about 60 online "acid jazz" radio links that Eric B has not only
put up but also described. Many of these broadcasts are done by folks who
either are regular posters on this mailing list or have been in the past.
Perhaps it is the case that people don't post as much, because they are too
busy with internet radio?

I do internet radio and I know just how time consuming it can be.

I dunno it just seems that we have developed a tremendous resourse right
here.
We have a whole lotta smart people.
Who are all terribly knowlegeable about this kind of music.
Who also tend to influence others.

It seems to me that we should be able to figure out a way to do something
with it together, that would benifit everyone here.
10 years ago when I first joined this mailing list, there was lots of
conversation.
One of the reasons for that was because this was one of the few places that
existed where those types of discussions could occur.

Today the internet is vastly different than it was 10 years ago.
There are almost too many places to talk about music.
As a result musical discussion has become splintered and somewhat
irrelevant, as now most musical discussion is really just thinly disguised
"advertising" for a product.

Neverthe less I would suggest to you all that if this is a place that is
actually the home of SIXTY UNIQUIE INTERNET RADIO BROADCASTS, then this is a
place that is truly a "center of influence".
(even if we really don't know it)

Althogh I titled this posting "Acid Jazz Radio Network", I'm not sure if I
meant that figurativly or literally.
All I know is that because of the people who are here, the potential that
exists for doing "something" in a unified fashion seems to make sense to me.

I don't have a clear picture of what that "something" could be or how it
could be manifested.
But I do know that Eric B has already created the "seed" for what it could
be on his links page at:
http://www.cmd.uu.se/AcidJazz/Radio/

Any other thoughts, ideas or potential action items?
