'Alien Groove Sensation'
Naked Funk (Pussy Foot)

An interesting and very enjoyable funk dance release from pussy foot
records, a label that is fast finding it's own identity amongst the
current crop of phat-blunted-trip-hop-beat orientated labels flooding the
market. In steps the 'Alien Groove Sensation' crying that all too familiar
'Is anybody out there?' with it's crisp drum snaps and an almost
indie-rock guitar riff floating over the top. The B-side houses 'Earth Quake'
which rides in very much the same manner but with more of an electronic
angle to it. My pick would have to be the final track 'Tawny Peaks' which
runs at a slightly slower pace but has a slamming bass and electronic
melody and an interesting use of strings creating a very infectous
groove. Overall, all three tracks are excellent and are great dance floor
material.
