Gene is one of the all-time great jazz guitarists. I was turned on to him
by a cat named Max Ellen, a violinist who's done strings for all kinds of
people-he's responsible for a lot of Deodato strings. Anyway, I hired them
both for a project I'm working on. We did a bunch of ad-libs with Gene that
were absolutely wicked--unfortunately, my artists (I'm the production
manager) decided to go another way with the track, and aren't using Gene's
stuff. :(

Anyway, Gene Bertoncini's worth looking out for.
