Morning,
Anyone else catch the rock'n roll special on PBS on Saturday? It was
titled "Make it Funky". I know a bunch of people record shoping in
Berkeley :) did. It featured James Brown (n' Bootsy), Sly (n' Bootsy),
Bootsy, Parliment(n' Bootsy), and on and on. I dig Bootsy. I'm fairly
new to the list, but I haven't heard much tribute paid to the originals
like James. If you haven't listened to much JB before, check out the
intro to "The Payback". I've heard that sliding/wah-wah cord quite a few
times in my current play list. If you're interested in a quick and dirty
intro to some great funky music, try James Brown 70's Funk Classics on
Polygram special markets/ excelsior. I found it in a bargin bin for a
couple of bucks. He had the tightest band I've heard.
