Anyone heard of "The Boom"?

I just got a promo CD in the mail from Sony Japan by "The Boom." This
one's called "Far East Samba," and besides the Brazillian influences, also
throws in Afro-Caribbean, Indian tablas and Raggamuffin, all in a very high
energy uptempo production. And that's just in the first 3 songs (still
listening to it).

If you like United Future Organization, you should check this out. I'll
post a longer review if there is interest. Also, you can check out their
web site at <http://www1.sony.co.jp/InfoPlaza/SME/Music/Info/Boom/>.

I originally got into them because Bally Sagoo (my favorite Bhangra
remixer) did a remix of one of their Okinawan songs (still waiting for that
CD to show up). So we've got a Jamaican-influenced Punjabi DJ living in
the UK remixing a Japanese bands homage to traditional Okinawan music. My
head hurts.
