I believe he was talking about "West Coast Boogaloo." I agree with Derek to
a point, though I know that
the whole "drums real low in the mix/congas barely audible but you still
know they're there" dry kinda sound was purely intentional. If they were
going for that "vinage" sound and wanted to fool people into thinking that
it was made 20 years ago, that's pretty cool. But then you run the risk of
having it become a novelty. But great tunes. The opening tune is one of my
favorite AJ tunes of all time.
