Well, there isn't really anywhere to go for this stuff in the UK, ambient
jungle is getting short change at the moment, Vinyl distribution have
dropped about 15 labels recently and the sound is going _dark_ and mean. The
rise of 'speed garage' (arse house/garage beats overlaid with cheese-jungle
b-lines and supposedly 'smoky' vocals) has put a lot of jungle clubs out of
business, and the ones that are still around are reacting by playing bloody
evil sounding music, even dark jungle (around the hardcore era) is enjoying
a comeback.
Basically what I'm saying is there aren't any clubs playing ambient, unless
you get in a chill out room where the dj is winding it down...
Failing that buy some dex and do it yourself, house parties are great fun,
playing to a room full of stoned nutters (and they don't generally notice if
the mixing is off either!).
Don't know if the US is any better....
