    JUNE 2005

So, that’s what a 1000 days feels like! It feels goooooddddd.. Our birthday
celebrations at London’s Cargo Monday gone brought together a very happy
bunch of people to round of what was a very eventful and musically spoilt
long weekend in the capital. Tuesday was write-off for starters – nursing
hangovers, headaches and battle scars. Break Reform and TM Juke were
horizontal and vertical respectively. 2Tall kept the nodders wet, mBaker
Brothers spat, sweated and swaggered their way through 45 minutes of pure
energy and Ruby Trainers played one of the finest d.j sets ever heard. So
for anyone who ever attended a gig by one of artists anywhere in the world,
brought a cd from of the artists, sent an e-mail to us, blagged a guestlist,
partied with us, cried with us, stressed with us, put posters up and got in
bother with the law for us (thanks Chris!!), handed out flyers for us,
booked a dj or band, written an article about us or even someone who just
talks to plants in the garden. We salute you all – and thank you from our
big toe to our balding heads… Right – lets go…

Live sets from all the bands and dj’s will archived soon as well interviews
and pictures of the night courtesy of Radio Magnetic.

Latin Vibes Volume 1 – Lounge Selection (Mettle Music)

Manchester seems a million miles from sea, sand and sweat of samba. But then
opposites attract and Mettle Music have been providing a soul supplement for
discerning house and leftfield dj’s. This sampler is taster of the
forthcoming first volume featuring the best of the latin leftfield crop

    “Oozes quality” (Rainer Truby)

“Good tracks .. a radio groover” (Patrick Forge)

“Really works on the Groove Sanctuary dancefloor” (Raw Deal)

“Good groove, great horns – my kind of record” (Ben Mitchell – Sao Benetiz /
    Mr Hermano)

    ==========================

    Jonathon Krisp - Scalextrick (Cookshop)

The cunningly titled “Scalextrick” sees Mr Krisp in full wonky vocodered
funk mode with some bad ass vibes, tight beats and two knowledgeable pros
who clearly know their way around a Scalextric track. Contrasting on the
flip is “Paris In Winter”, a coldly lush downtempo affair replete with fuzzy
    rhodes and crackling strings.

“Wicked little tune – lots of fun. Started the Blue Room show with it”
(Chris Coco, Blue Room, BBC Radio 1)

“Loving the track.. really nice” (Strictly Kev / Solid Steel)

“Love the quirky A side” (Boca 45, Grand Central)

“Somebody, somewhere is playing a Jonathon Krisp” (Max Cole, Straight No
    Chaser)

“A nice track moving things in the right direction” (Beatphreak)
