i'm that dj from "vibes" in l.a. we're moving to a new venue, but i need help
to make sure we can keep "doing what we do". i need people to show up &
request
acid jazz. the new place is called abiquiu (1413 5th st. sta. monica), and the
cover is going to be $10 (ouch!). one of the promoters is kind of on our side
(sarab), unfortunately, i don't think he wears the pants. stewart seems to be
the guy w/the power, and he's talking 40's jazz (glenn miller--who is really
swing, as opposed to swingING...), 70's (i hope they don't expect DISCO), and
old r&b (which is alright for opening--y'know louis prima, etc.) and oh yeah,
current music. i was going to try to talk some sense into him ;) but i don't
think he's ready yet. he also isn't good w/names of artists or genres (a real
help to us dj's). PLEASE, if you can show up sat. 4/20 and demand acid jazz!!
we start @ 10 or so.
