I have the album. It's not *bad*, but it's horribly inconsistent.
Shawn Lee, the guy behind everything, and the guy with the bad Elvis
Costello impression, has also moonlighted on other projects: He's also
"Ping Pong" on the Ubiquity comps, and is also a solo artist on the
Planet Earth label. He is also now a part-time member of the Solsonics,
where he's credited as playing percussion on the Solsonics-backed tracks on
Guru's 'Jazzmatazz II' album.

Well, Portishead can be Acid-Jazz, mostly they're in that 'Trip-Hop'
genre which is closely related to Acid Jazz anyway. They're mainly passed
off as 'an alternative band that uses turntables and samplers instead of
guitars.' They do get some airplay on grunge-rock stations, so I've heard.
