IMHO, it's probably more of a hip-hop influence than acid-jazz. I'm sure
by now *everyone* knows about hip-hop, but not acid jazz. I can picture
someone like, say, Jeff Lorber incorporating some hip-hop swing loop
into his fusionpop stuff, thinking he's stumbled on something unique, but
uunaware that others have been doing the same thing for years already.
