Re: a mail-order source for Japanese CDs
I wasn't going to post this on th entire ML since this guy is
already flooded with orders recently. He's a good guy, with a
helpful service that allows email/CC-based ordering of Japanese
CDs (and possibly vinyl). Since he's busy, please be prepared to
wait a little on responses, but once he responds, the transaction
should go pretty smoothly.
DISCLAIMER: THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE IN JAPAN. Be prepared for prices
to be a little higher than they are at home, but note that this service
does NOT mark-up prices (music prices are strictly controlled here).
If you contact this guy, give him the artist, title, and catalog
number for the CD when ordering and tell him that I referred you.
He'll send you the price (including shipping), and ask for a CC#.
He'll then ship you the goods with a slip to be signed. I've also
included another source for mail-order from Japan that I unfortunately
know nothing about. (Use either at your own risk) Here's the info:
Sasaki Seiichi at AVPlus one is willing to take orders for those who
would like to order CDs even if you are NOT subscribed to Nifty or PC-Van.
Due to the costs involved with special shipment of goods from Japan, the
service can be expensive unless one orders at least 3 or 4 CDs. Otherwise,
this may be a decent way to order for those who have been a service to
fill the following conditions:
1. Accepts orders by email
2. Orders sent internationally
3. Accepts orders in English
4. Payments accepted by credit card (Visa and MC)
5. Also deals in indie and harder to find releases (inc. Crue-L Records)
