Prestige put out another great side: Rusty Bryant's "Rusty Bryant Returns!"
inclusing Sonny Phillips on organ and the immaculate Grant Green on guitar--a
nice even mix of boogaloo, straightforward, and blues. In Blue Note's
Connoisseur Series, Ike Quebec's "Heavy Soul" was released (with the underrated
Freddie Roach on organ)--U.F.O. fans check out tracks 1 and 3. Also released
in this series this time around: Grant Green's "Green Street", Lee Morgan's
"Leeway", Pete La Roca's "Basra", Freddie Hubbard's "Ready for Freddie", Lou
Donaldson's "Sunny Side Up", among others. Yow, sounds like some good summer
listening!
