I know that this has been around for a while, since late last year, but I
don't remember any postings about it.
The EP's called 'Extended Play', and has one track from 'In the hand
of..' plus four unreleased tracks which they played live at the last gig
I saw. Basically, if you dig the live AJ funky groove- real guys playing
real instruments- BUY THIS!
There are two guaranteed floor fillers- Redneck and Europa. Redneck is a
more laid back and funky tune- great Hammond playing, stripped back sound
with just the main instruments. Europa is a 70's theme-style tune- badass
horns, percussion and a frightening tempo. I've managed to cause
structural damage to the neighbourhood by playing this 12" so damn loud-
it's totally infectious.
On a similar note, I picked up a soundtrack by Jerry Butler from 1972
from a film called 'Melinda'. I know nothing about it- the back cover
shows some cheesy blaxploitation martial arts stuff. Any info?
Incidentally, the album is good but uneven. There's one excellent track-
the title theme is really good, and long. Ideal for AJ club food.
